Program Experience
Unique among doctorate programs in Canada, the Adler Psy.D. uses a scholar-practitioner model that integrates research and training. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge, clinical competencies and research skills. As you deepen your skill set through hands-on, supervised practicum in clinical and community settings, you will train to become a socially responsible clinician prepared to practice at the doctoral level.
We offer a mission-driven curriculum that blends four years of coursework, practicum experiences, and dissertation with a one-year, full-time internship in the fifth-year. Coursework:
This program focuses on clinical and research disciplines critical to socially responsible practice. Doctoral courses are scheduled during all three terms in an academic year and include:
- Community Psychology
- Introduction to Adlerian Psychology and Psychopathology
- Structural and Sociocultural Bases of Health and Dysfunction
- Psychodynamic Approaches to Intervention
- Therapy Practicum I, II & III
