Prepare for a clinical psychology career with Adler University
Service Canada projects continued strong employment growth for psychologists, due to significant growth in the government’s health care priorities as well as social needs. Adler University’s doctoral program in psychology offers the highest level of professional preparation for your career in clinical psychology practice—preparation you will not find anywhere else in the region.
Our Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program (Psy.D.) is designed to prepare students for the practice of professional clinical psychology—with unique emphasis on socially responsible practice and intensive community-based training. Our students are trained as practitioners with expertise in assessment, theory, research, and practice by faculty who are practicing clinicians, scholars, researchers, and educators.
Our Psy.D. program features:
- Direct client and community engagement — Become professionally active early in your career through field experiences working with our community partners.
- A community of professionals — Join your classmates and instructors in a collaborative environment where you can pursue research, reflect on your practice, and engage in advocacy for the communities you serve.
- A systems approach focused on social justice — Adler University’s Psy.D. program challenges you to work towards dismantling social structures that contribute to human and community dysfunction.
Preparation for registration — Our program is specifically designed to meet the requirements of colleges or boards of psychologists in most jurisdictions in North America. Prospective students should familiarize themselves with licensing requirements in the province or state in which they expect to practice to ensure their educational and training experiences meet all necessary requirements.
